Most investors don't have a clear picture of their own wealth. It's scattered across brokerage logins, retirement accounts, a crypto wallet, a bank balance, a home, a loan — each with its own screen, its own definition of "return," and none of them talking to each other.
FolioBright was built by an investor who spent years stitching that picture together by hand — a sprawling complex spreadsheet rebuilt every month, formulas that broke, incomplete performance metrics, and dividends that were never fully accounted for. It worked, barely. But it took hours, and I still couldn't answer the simplest question honestly: How am I actually doing?
So we set out to build the tool we wished existed. Not a bank aggregator that quietly sells your data, and not a flashy app that hides real performance behind a single feel-good number — but a calm, precise, private dashboard that treats your money with the seriousness it deserves.
What "honest" means to us
Returns should account for the money you add and take out — otherwise a big deposit looks like a great year. Cost basis should follow real tax lots. Dividends should be counted where they land. Net worth should include what you owe, not just what you own. FolioBright is opinionated about getting these right, because rounded-off numbers quietly mislead the people relying on them.
Private, by default
Your brokerage files are read in your browser and the files themselves are never uploaded — only the transactions inside them. When you're signed in, your portfolio syncs to your account so it's waiting on every device, with account numbers stripped before anything leaves your device. Reports and CSV exports are generated on your device. We think a tool that sees this much of your financial life has to earn that trust every single day.
